Utilities, Bristol.

BRIEF: Consolidate property, accommodate additional staff, and create an environment that facilitates a more open and collaborative business structure.

Working with GCP Architects, this was an in situ refurbishment of the workplace, whilst maintaining business continuity, providing additional workspace, client entertaining and support services. Once a dark, tired and largely cellular working environment the refurbishment of the 1960’s HQ was an opportunity to bring together teams that had previously worked on separate sites into a new collegiate and non-siloed environment. After undertaking an extensive research and consultation exercise we were able to suggest a more appropriate working methodology. Working closely with the project architect we sensitively extended the building and opened up a previously unused light well into a new atrium social space and cafe. Stripping away unnecessary outdated fixtures exposed the buildings elegant structure and created a sense of light and space.
